Sam Durant "Inspired by postwar American history, and the tension between our social ideals, identity, and mythology with the persistence of racism and inequality, Durant creates startling, caustic associations- and collisions- between fine art and popular culture." Durant's work has been shown both nationally and internationally. Recent exhibitions include Proposal for White and Indian Dead Monuments Transposition, Washington D.C, Paula Cooper Gallery, New York, NY; Presse Ne Pas Avaler, Praz-Delavallade, Paris, France; Color Pictures, Catriona Jeffries Gallery, Vancouver, B.C.; and Involved, Blum & Poe, Los Angeles, CA. Sam Durant currently lives and works in Las Angeles, California. |
