Joseph Grigley is Professor of Visual and Critical Studies at Chicago's School of the Art Institute. His art has been exhibited widely in the United States, Europe and beyond, including recent solo shows at the Whitney Museum, the List Center at MIT, the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, and the Barbican Center in London. He participated in the 2000 Whitney Biennial, as well as biennials in Sidney (1998) and Instanbul (1997), and will also be included in this summer's Venice Bienale. In New York he shows regularly with Cohan, Leslie and Brown. Grigely received a doctorate in philosophy from Oxford in 1984. |
