studios & facilities

Located at 629 Colfax Avenue, this modest Victorian house has been converted into studio spaces with a communally shared kitchen. A 10-minute walk from Kresge Hall, where the department's offices and undergraduate studios and classrooms are housed, the Colfax Studios are used solely by AT&P graduate students, providing an environment that encourages interaction and discussion.

Graduate students have full use of the department's studios and equipment in Kresge Hall, including sculpture, photo and etching studios, a woodshop and computer lab, as well as digital photo and video equipment. Because of the program's small size, access to and availability of equipment and facilities is never a problem. Through taking classes in other departments at Northwestern, graduate students can gain access to even more advanced computer and video technology.
